The Other Side of Long Beach

This is a particularly grisly news. 5 homeless adults found murdered near the 710/405 interchange.

I'm not sure what to think about all this. Long Beach is a big town, and my 9 mile running that goes from Mother's Beach to Appian to Fourth to Downtown is an experience in the downward trajectory in economic vitality. And yet from ritzy Naples Island to gentrified Broadway to the all the stores with iron bars in downtown, I have never felt like I was in any sort of danger.

The 710/405 interchange is on the north part of Long Beach, which is definitely rougher.
