While the rest of the economy crumbles, the island nation's fishing industry is booming, with big catches and rising export prices thanks to the collapse of Iceland's currency, the krona.

That's a lot of fish to catch if you want to offset the amount of money lost.

The problem is that while Iceland has done a decent job of not depleting its own fishing stock, I fear that the high market demand would lead to overfishing. This is all the more important considering that Icelandic cod, like most every other fish in the Atlantic, have been caught to depletion and are slowly making a comeback.
