FInancial Sector Then And Now

To give a sense how bad of a year it has been for finance, I decided to tabulate some of the stocks today and where it was 2 years ago:

Wells has been fairly unaffected. However, they are getting hit from the Lehman BK.

Goldman Sachs numbers don't look as bad. However, this is down from a high of 240.21 last year.

JPMC and HSBC are relatively unscathed. Given that HSBC has always wanted to establish a more visible footprint in the US (before they pulled back at the beginning of the year), I wonder what their strategy is: conserve cash or go on a shopping spree...
