Given just how battered WaMu have been this past year, his position as a CEO was not all that safe. But still, he was the CEO the entire time I was a Wamulian.

I hope WaMu pulls through this down cycle: I had really good experience working there...

[UPDATE] From Marketwatch via CR, it looks like Office of Thrifts and Supervision (OTS) hlp turned the screws on this.

OTS is one regulatory agency you seriously do not want to piss off. When we did risk models we had to run by their compliance.
