Something Completely Different

Some sports guy on TV was claiming the fact that all 12 top 3 seed teams made it to the Sweet 16 (for the first time in history, apparently) is proof that the haves and the have nots is worse now than it has ever been.

That may be true, but I have an alternate hypothesis: maybe the selection committee, in the age where every single game is televised, analyzed and quantified, are better at picking seed than they have ever been. And as a result all their top seeds perform better.

I think that we live in an age nowadays that most pundits in any field have too much air time and too much coverage that they "need" to come up with stuff to say or else it will just be dead air.
